Use John 8:12 to guide your prayer over Mosul-
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Pray for the people of Mosul to know Jesus as the Light of the World.
Soldiers
Pray for the various soldiers, representing various groups and rankings, to encounter Jesus through dreams and visions. For those that have endured significant trauma, may they receive healing & shalom through the cross. May they become men that fight spiritual battles and win spiritual victories for the King. May these men admit that they are foreigners and strangers on earth (Hebrews 11:13), and long for a better country- a heavenly one (Hebrews 11:16), and look forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God (Hebrews 11:10).
Kingship & Majesty
May Jesus be revealed throughout Mosul as He truly is, our majestic and mighty King, who is matchless in every way. May the peoples of Mosul see Jesus as the King of kings and Lord of lords, who rules and reigns with justice, power, and love, of One who is worthy of their obedience.
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3:2) Pray for the Moslawi people throughout the city of Mosul to experience true repentance as they see the holy standard of a Righteous King and their inability to ever measure up.
