Use John 11:14-15 to guide your prayer over Mosul-
Then Jesus made it plain to them, “Lazarus is dead. And for your sake, I’m glad I wasn’t there, because now you have another opportunity to see who I am so that you will learn to trust in me. Come, let’s go and see him.”
May the people of the Great City have the opportunity to see who Jesus is so that they will learn to trust in Him. Resurrections!
The divorced
Part of why marriage is so idolized in this society is because of the security that it offers, especially for women. Yet for those who have been divorced, whatever the reason, it is unlikely that they will ever re-marry because of the assumption that there must be something wrong with that person (this is also especially true of the women). So being divorced can lead those who are to carry a lot of shame and woundedness, as well as many fears for their future.
Faithful/ faithfulness
May the peoples of Mosul know God as faithful.
