Use John 7:37-38 to guide your prayer over Mosul-
“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
Pray for those who are thirsty in Mosul to know where to turn to satisfy their thirst. May their belief lead to living water bursting out from within them.
Men without a sense of purpose
Work can be hard to come by for many in Mosul. Please pray for men that are without work and, even for those who do, yet who still struggle to live with a sense of purpose. May they come to know the great purposes that Jesus has for their lives. Purposes for their good and the glory of His Name and expansion of His Kingdom.
Wonderful Counselor
Pray that the Wonderful Counselor will be revealed to the peoples of Mosul. We need his counsel!
Mosul can often be referred to by Iraqis by 3 different names. Al-Fayha (the paradise), Al-Khadhra (the green), and sometimes Mosul is described as the Pearl of the North. Use these 3 names to lead and inspire your prayers over the city. For example:
Al-Fayha (the paradise)– pray for the Kingdom of God to come to Mosul, for God’s will to be done in Mosul as it is in heaven, etc.
Al-Khadhra (the green)– pray for new life in Mosul, for the people of Mosul to be led to lie down in green pastures (Psalm 23:2), etc.
The Pearl of the North– pray for the people of Mosul to know Jesus as the pearl of great price, to know that Jesus is the treasure worth forsaking all for, etc.
Use these resources to help pray specifically each day.
