Use John 10:16 to guide your prayer over Mosul-
“I have other sheep too that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.”
Single Adults
Though culturally there are strong societal pressures for marriage, there are more and more adults choosing to remain single, especially among women. Women especially have come to fear marriage and the hardships that often come with it in this culture. Yet to choose to remain single is also a hard path with many pressures and fears. Pray for the single adults in Mosul, for those that have chosen to remain single and for those that desire marriage but haven’t gotten engaged yet. Pray that they will come to know and be rooted in their true identity in Christ. Pray that God will care for their every need, putting to rest their fears of the future as they trust in Him. Pray for those who do desire marriage to have the provision of a spouse. Pray for these single adults to come to know Jesus that they might follow after Him whole-heartedly and make great impact for the Kingdom.
Forgiving
May it be revealed to the people of Mosul that “in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7).
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” (Hebrews 11:8) May both seekers and believers in Mosul be willing to start on a journey of obedience to You despite not knowing how it may turn out in this life.
