Use John 14:6 to guide your prayer over Mosul-
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Pray for the people of Mosul to know Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Turkmen
The Turkmen are a people that originate from Turkmenistan, as well as the surrounding countries of the Caspian Sea, including Turkey, Azerbaijan, part of Iran, and other countries. The Turkmen have a long history in Iraq, dating back to the 600’s and are the 3rd largest ethnic group in Iraq. There are estimated to be 30,000 Turkmen in the city of Mosul, with the largest population living in the Prophet Jonah market area.
Please pray that this people group will be reached with the gospel within Mosul. May these people be open to relationship with Christians and with Christ.
Just Judge
May the peoples of Mosul receive revelation of Jesus as the Just Judge. “He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with fairness”. -Psalm 98:9
“I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” (Matthew 26:29)
Even more strongly than the Moslawis (people of Mosul) fasting today longing for their thirst to be quenched and their bellies to be filled with extravagant food, may your Church’s anticipation be growing for the day when Jesus drinks again of the fruit of the vine that He secured through His death, burial, and resurrection. We pray that there will be many Iraqis from every people group in Mosul around that table.
Use these resources to help pray specifically each day.
