Use John 3:16-17 to guide your prayer over Mosul-
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
Pray for the people of Mosul to know Jesus as the Savior of the World.
Orphans –
Pray especially for those who are orphans and those who are forced to work through organized crime. Many children have lost their parents to ISIS and war, leaving them vulnerable to various mafia-like groups that use them to work for their personal gain.
Father–
Pray that the people of Mosul will understand what it means that God is a Father, a good Father. One who cares for, shelters, and provides for His children. And that they can know the joy of being adopted as sons and daughters!
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation.” (Hebrews 11:1-2) Give every believer in Mosul courage to live by faith instead of by sight.
