Use John 11:9-10 to guide your prayer over Mosul
Jesus replied, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight in every day? You can go through a day without the fear of stumbling when you walk in the One who gives light to the world. But you will stumble when the light is not in you, for you’ll be walking in the dark.”
May the people of Mosul no longer stumble from walking in the dark. But may they walk in the One who gives light to the world.
Sunni Arabs
Though both Sunni and Shia Muslims are present in Mosul, as well as other faiths, Mosul is known as being the largest, most conservative Sunni city in all of Iraq. The majority of the city are Sunni Muslims. Pray for the Sunni Arabs of Mosul to experience the Kingdom in Mosul, and choose to bow their lives to the King.
Beautiful
May the beauty of Christ be seen and adored throughout the city of Mosul. May the people’s of Mosul behold the King in His beauty (Isaiah 33:17a), and may God, the perfection of beauty, shine forth throughout Mosul (Psalm 50:2).
“By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous…” (Hebrews 11:4a) Convict the peoples of Mosul this Ramadan, Lord, that we can only be made right before you on your terms through faith, not ours.
